Monte Sant’Angelo is in the heart of the Gargano National Park in the province of Foggia, east coast of south-central Italy. It is the site of two UNESCO World Heritage places: Saint Michael Church and the Umbra Forest. This picture was taken in the historical center, when I was strolling through the city, after visiting Saint Michael’s Grotto (Basilica di S. Michele). The old historic town has its medieval charm, and these doors and steps are representative of the simple beauty of the surroundings. Above the doors are the number “20” and “19”, so I connected them with the year 2019, when I was there visiting :-) I felt like I was entering a portal...
