Description
In the middle of Piazza delle Erbe (Herb’s Square, or Market Square) in Verona, Italy, there is an ancient fountain, built in 1368, and on top of it there is a Roman sculpture called “Madonna Verona”. The sculpture of the Madonna dates back to the year 380 CE (AD). The head and the hands of the statue were added when the fountain was assembled in the XIV century. The buildings on one side, facing the square, have façade frescoes - the Mazzanti Houses.
