Monte Sant’Angelo is in the heart of the Gargano National Park in the province of Foggia, east coast of south-central Italy. It is the site of two UNESCO World Heritage places: Saint Michael Church and the Umbra Forest. This picture was taken in the historical center, when I was strolling through the city, after visiting Saint Michael’s Grotto (Basilica di S. Michele). The hilly rooftops overlook the Adriatic Sea far down the mountain.
