Description
"A Day at the Town Square" painting, featuring Leonardtown Square, in historic Saint Mary’s County, Maryland, with its WWI Monument, the surrounding buildings, parked cars, and a couple of people chatting and enjoying the beautiful day with their dog.
I painted it to illustrate the resonance between a historic town and contemporary life. The atmosphere is that of tranquility, while still carrying the daily activities of the 21st century.
Leonardtown is Southern Maryland’s Art District, so I thought it would be the best subject to be perpetuated in a work of art! I had fun painting every little detail, using a magnifying glass, small brushes, and acrylics.
It is my hope that everyone who sees this painting, will feel the lovely feelings I had while painting it, and that those feelings can be carried in your heart throughout your day!
