I remeber reading somewhere that there are two kinds of photographs that have universal appeal, one is baby pictures, the other one sunset shots. Perhaps at a subconscious level, we all love these photos because one signifies the beginning of life and the other one the end of life. Psychologists tell us that the vast majority of our preferences and desires are at a subconscious level. We're barely aware of them. Our daily, normal awareness is like the tip of an iceberg.
